Bio

Andrew Morris is Chair in Statistical Genetics at the University of Manchester. The primary aim of his research is the development of powerful statistical methods for the analysis of genome-wide association and sequencing studies, and their implementation in user-friendly software that can be distributed to the wider research community. His research focus includes the development of methodology for genome-wide meta-analysis. He currently co-leads international collaborative efforts to understand the genetic basis of a wide range of complex human traits and diseases, including type 2 diabetes, kidney function, gestational diabetes and endometriosis. His research expertise includes genetic epidemiology and statistical genomics.
