Bio

Dr Robert Kalyesubula is a nephrologist and epidemiologist specialising in non-communicable diseases in Africa. He is a senior lecturer and head of Physiology at Makerere University, with a PhD in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is an adjunct Asst Prof. at Yale University, University of Vermont, both in USA and Mc Master University in Canada. Dr Kalyesubula is the founding president of the Uganda Kidney Foundation and the African Community Center for Social Sustainability (ACCESS), which has provided health, education, and livelihood services to rural Ugandans to over 200,000 individuals. He has over 110 peer-reviewed publications, and his main focus is on improving kidney care and addressing the burden of chronic diseases through research, capacity building, and innovative community-based approaches.
