Bio
Prof Oyekanmi Nash, is the Research Director of Genetics, Genomics and Bioinformatics Department at the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA). He is also the Director of the Centre for Genomics Research and Innovation (CGRI). He graduated with PhD in Molecular Genetics from Korea University, and subsequently worked, first, as a postdoctoral fellow with the Canadian Protein Engineering Centre of Excellence (PENCE) at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, and then as a Research Associate Professor at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. His work focuses on genomics application in health and biotechnology. He leads the West African Biotechnology Workshops Series and leads initiatives to develop genomics-enabled tools for disease surveillance, diagnostics, crop and animal research. As an H3Africa Bioinformatics Network PI, Prof Nash drives capacity building in genomics across West Africa, emphasizing bioinformatics training and collaboration.
